The 9-11 Memorial Quilt Project

Santa Clara, October 2005

From October 21 to 23, 2005, the five quilts traveled with the Creative Arts & Teaching Show (CATS) to Santa Clara, California, their first showing on the West Coast. California sent 22 squares to the project, the seventh most of any state or country.

Photos from the show

At the show the quilts hung on freestanding frames in the exhibit hall, so visitors could walk the length of each one and read the squares up close.

These photos were taken on the trip and posted on the project’s own site, and were recovered from the Internet Archive. Names come from the old captions. Every effort is being made to preserve the historic significance of this project, though we will respect credible requests to remove a photo. If you are in one of them, contact us.
