A.F. Sterling was founded in Tucson in 1987 with a simple belief: that every family deserves a quality home built by people who care. That belief has guided everything we’ve done for nearly 40 years — from our first neighborhood to our 4,000th home.
We’ve grown steadily because of the relationships we build, not just the homes. Our clients come back to us. Their children come to us. Their neighbors and colleagues trust us because someone they know vouched for us — and that kind of trust is earned one home at a time. Today, A.F. Sterling is Tucson’s largest local home builder, still locally owned and managed, still building the way we always have.

In 2025, A.F. Sterling was honored with the SAHBA Custom Builder of the Year award — the most prestigious recognition in Tucson custom homebuilding, awarded annually by the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association. It joins five previous SAHBA Production Home Builder of the Year honors, making A.F. Sterling one of the most decorated builders in SAHBA’s history.
